The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently traveling to the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services to the community.
SASSA will likely be rendering services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency claimed it's alarmed with regards to the large range of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a substantial number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This really is mainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no absolutely functional website office dedicated to service the area daily. The services position established for intervention encounters a substantial inflow of potential beneficiaries, which makes it tricky for that office to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more sources to allow the servicing of all consumers and boost entry to Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
